In 2016, Steve Dupuis wrote a bunch of songs inspired in equal parts by the insane political environment, personal stories and just plain rock & roll, Steve approached Mark Devaraj to play drums, Emily Dupuis to play keys and sing back up, Jon Sawyer for bass and Grant Eull to round up the lineup on guitar. With a couple years of shows as a band, The Heavy Sixers released their first selection of basement recordings titled, "Not in the Hostas". Influences can be heard in varying degrees from some classic rock & roll sounds to the college rock of the 80s and 90s.
